MY FINAL POST!

Congratulations on an excellent performance! I am very proud of you all. Don’t let yourselves down by not getting the written work completed!

Here is a reminder of how you are being marked:

The blog will be marked against P5, M5, D5

You need to check back over all of my posts and ensure that you have answered all the questions.

You will notice that I have posted photos from the dress rehearsal. You could annotate these - write about what is happening in the photo, discuss the physicality of the characters etc.

Here are some questions to help you to write your evaluation:

  • What was your overall opinion of the final performance?
  • Personally what went well for you?
  • Write about another actor, or a scene you weren’t in - what was effective about their work and why?
  • How was our piece effective and why? You should discuss the set, costumes, acting, music and props.
  • What were the main strengths of the performance? Why?
  • What were the weaknesses of the performance? What could have been developed further?

Here is a check list:

  • Character research
  • A role-on-the-wall for your character
  • A peer assessment sheet from the rehearsal
  • A self-assessment sheet from the rehearsal
  • A reflection on every workshop and rehearsal (use the questions I have written each week)
  • An evaluation of the final performance

You will write down the final link to your blog on Thursday in your lesson, in doing this you hand in your work!

If you have any questions, or need any help, please come and find me, or email me on sgoodall2@brit.croydon.sch.uk    before Thursday!

Final rehearsal

The rehearsal on Thursday was excellent because you all came with focus, energy and wanted the piece to be successful.

You all looked great in costume, there are some great little moments happening between characters, the piece has really evolved!

Next Thursday please arrive in your costumes again. Please bring your props, these can be left in the office before if you bring them in. You need to read through lines and be sure that you know:

1. What you are saying.

2. Who you are talking to and why.

3. What you are thinking.

4. What your character wants from the scene.

You have all worked very hard and I can't wait to see the show on Thursday.

We will have a session on notes and tidy up sections 10-11 and a dress rehearsal 11.15-12.15 with a small invited audience to give some feedback. We will then have a chance to work through some notes from 12.15-1.00.

Please make sure your logbooks are up to date! You should have reflections for EVERY LESSON! You should have clearly tracked your progress and the rehearsal process!

Sneak preview....

We are getting closer to the performance! You should make sure you keep revising your lines as these will be the key to a successful performance.

Your blogs should be up to date. You should have reflected on Thursday’s lesson and continued to set yourself targets.

Here is a sneak preview of the text messages I have created for the performance. If you have any other ideas let me know and I can make them for Thursday! Remember I am expecting you to arrive to the lesson in costume for our rehearsal!

The Theatre rooms are free at lunchtime and you should use them to rehearse over the last few weeks.
